Progressing to Advanced 欧美AV

To apply to progress to Advanced 欧美AV, Trainees must have completed:

  • 184 weeks of Basic 欧美AV,
  • Passed both written and oral examinations, and
  • Completed all training requirements.

Please ensure your training supervisor/ITP coordinator is aware if you are having issues completing your Basic 欧美AV requirements to progress to Advanced 欧美AV. They may be able to offer advice and additional opportunities to complete the requirements to avoid losing credit for Advanced 欧美AV Time.

Planning your ATP

Prior to commencing Advanced 欧美AV, you must submit your Advanced 欧美AV Pathway (ATP) requirements for prospective approval via My.欧美AV.

As part of the prospective approval process, the College will confirm that your training site can provide sufficient clinical experience to support your Advanced 欧美AV program.

Trainees undertaking the Generalist Obstetrics and Gynaecology Pathway must complete the following ATMs:

  • Essentials Obstetrics and Gynaecology Skills ATM
  • Generalist Obstetrics ATM
  • Generalist Gynaecology ATM

The Generalist Obstetrics and Gynaecology Pathway ATMs may be undertaken concurrently, over a minimum of 46 weeks of prospectively approved advanced training. Estimated lengths of each ATM are provided in the curriculum document.

Trainees undertaking the Advanced Obstetrics Pathway must complete the following ATMs:

  • Essentials Obstetrics and Gynaecology Skills ATM
  • Advanced Obstetrics ATM

The Advanced Obstetrics Advanced 欧美AV Pathway ATMs may be undertaken concurrently, over a minimum of 46 weeks (FTE) of prospectively approved Advanced 欧美AV. Estimated lengths of each ATM are provided in the curriculum document.

Mandatory modules

Trainees undertaking the Sexual and Reproductive Health Pathway must complete the following ATMs:

  • Essential Obstetrics and Gynaecology Skills ATM
  • Contraception ATM
  • Medical and Surgical Abortion ATM
  • Sexual Health (eLearning Module) ATM

Elective modules

Mandatory requirement to complete minimum of two:

  • Menopause ATM
  • Care of Vulvovaginal Conditions ATM
  • Acute Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy ATM
  • Colposcopy ATM
  • Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology ATM
  • Sexual Health ATM

The Sexual and Reproductive Health Pathway ATMs may be undertaken concurrently; estimated lengths of each ATM are provided in the curriculum document.

Rural Obstetrics and Gynaecology Specialist Pathway is a funded project under the Department of Health and Aged Care, Flexible Approach to 欧美AV in Expanded Settings (FATES).

Whilst the funding has been fully allocated, Trainees interested in a career in rural Obstetrics and Gynaecology are encouraged to pursue this pathway.

The Rural Pathway may only be undertaken at Modified Monash Model (MMM) 3-7 sites. 欧美AV sites are not required to apply for Rural Pathway status. Eligibility will be assessed through the standard Prospective Approval process. MM2 sites with substantial outreach services to MM3-7 communities and that meet the requirements of the pathway, may request consideration for Rural Pathway approval.

Trainees undertaking the Rural Obstetrics and Gynaecology Specialist ATP must complete the following ATMs:

  • Essentials Obstetrics and Gynaecology Skills ATM
  • Rural Obstetrics and Gynaecology Specialist ATM

The Rural Obstetrics and Gynaecology Specialist Pathway ATMs may be undertaken concurrently; estimated lengths of each ATM are provided in the curriculum document.

To undertake the academic pathway, trainees must be approved under the Academic Stream.

Trainees undertaking the Academic Pathway must complete the following ATMs:

  • Essential Obstetrics and Gynaecology Skills ATM
  • Medical Education Special Interest Module (SIM)

Trainees are expected to complete the training and assessment requirements for the Academic ATP over 92 weeks (FTE) of satisfactorily completed prospectively approved Advanced 欧美AV. To note 46 Weeks can be credited by virtue of completing the PHD. These ATMs may be undertaken concurrently; estimated lengths of each ATM are provided in the curriculum document.

The Academic Pathway ATMs may be undertaken concurrently; estimated lengths of each ATM are provided in the curriculum document.

Academic Stream trainees are able to undertake other Advanced 欧美AV Pathways; however will need to ensure that the Academic Pathway ATMs have also been completed.

Trainees undertaking the Subspecialist Pathway must complete the following ATM:

  • Essential Obstetrics and Gynaecology Skills ATM.

The Essential Obstetrics and Gynaecology Skills ATM may be undertaken over a minimum of 26 weeks (FTE) of prospectively approved advanced training.

Only trainees who are selected and enrolled in one of the five 欧美AV-approved Subspecialty 欧美AV Program can undertake the Subspecialist Advanced 欧美AV Pathway.聽 Subspecialty trainees can undertake other 欧美AV Advanced 欧美AV Pathways in place of the Subspecialty Advanced 欧美AV Pathway.

The College also offers a suite of鈥痮ptional鈥痵pecial-interest Advanced 欧美AV Modules (SIMs), as outlined below.

Please note: it is advisable not to undertake more than two ATMs concurrently during the training period.

The Advanced Obstetrics Pathway must be completed over a minimum of 46 weeks (FTE) of prospectively approved Advanced 欧美AV.

Trainees undertaking the Sexual and Reproductive Health Pathway must complete the following:

Trainees Undertaking the Subspecialist Pathway must complete one of the following options:

  • Essential Obstetrics and Gynaecology Skills ATM, concurrently with a minimum of 46 weeks of satisfactorily assessed Subspecialty training,聽or
  • Generalist Obstetrics ATM听补苍诲听Generalist Gynaecology ATM, concurrently over a minimum of 23 weeks,聽prior聽to commencing Subspecialist training, plus a minimum of 23 weeks of satisfactorily assessed Subspecialty training

聽Subspecialty trainees can undertake other 欧美AV Advanced 欧美AV Pathways in place of the Subspecialty Advanced 欧美AV Pathway.

The College also offers a suite of optional special-interest Advanced 欧美AV Modules (ATMs), as outlined below.

Completion and sign-off

The process of Advanced 欧美AV Pathway (ATP) completion and sign-off is as follows:

Submit the ATP Completion Form via (Additional Requirements dashboard), including a signature from your 欧美AV Supervisor and Head of Department
